I Wish I Were A Bird (prose poem)
If I were a bird, I would soar through the sky, my wings spreading wide I would fly high above the earth, feeling the wind brush against my feathers, carrying me to new unknown heights From up above, the world would be a different placeI would look down and see the hustle and bustle of the city, people rushing around, lost in their own world I would glide over the tall buildings, admiring the architecture that stands as a testament to human creativity From my vantage point, I would see the city as a unified whole, the streets and buildings blending together in a harmonious symphonyI would fly over vast fields, watching as farmers tend to their crops, the sun shining down on their hard work I would see the colors of nature, the vibrant greens of the trees, the golden hues of the wheat, and the delicate petals of flowers I would hear the chirping of birds and the rustling of leaves as the wind caresses the earthI would visit parks and gardens, where children run and play I would witness the joy on their faces as they swing on swings and chase each other I would watch as families gather for picnics, enjoying the simple pleasure of being together I would join them in their laughter and feel the warmth of their loveI would find solace in the tranquil beauty of mountains and lakes I would perch on a tree branch, listening to the babbling of a nearby stream as it cascades down the rocks I would watch as the sun sets behind the mountains, casting a stunning display of colors across the sky I would feel a sense of peace wash over me, as if all the troubles of the world are momentarily forgottenHowever, as I dream of being a bird, I also recognize the limitations of my human form I may not possess wings that enable me to fly freely above the world, but I can appreciate the beauty that surrounds me I can marvel at the wonders of nature, cherish the moments of togetherness, and seek solace in the simple joys of lifeWhile being a bird would be a fantastical dream, I am content being who I am I am thankful for the experiences and opportunities that life brings, and for the ability to find beauty and happiness in the little things And although I may never fly with the birds, I can still carry their spirit within me - a spirit of freedom, wonder, and the endless possibility of the sky
